As a response to the concerns of the Old Town community surrounding public safety, the OTCA Livability Committee is presenting “Safety 101,” a series of personal and community safety classes. Different subjects are presented monthly at the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine.

In January, we’ll be hosting a WomenStrength personal safety course focused on verbal skills in safety planning, assertiveness, deescalation and escape options. WomenStrength is a program of the Portland Police Bureau.  Since 1979, they have provided free self-defense classes and personal safety workshops to people around the Portland area. All genders welcome.
